GAS BOILER SERVICING
Things we're often asked about
During a boiler service a gas engineer will perform a comprehensive inspection of the boiler as well as conduct a number of tests. The service will include checking:
- gas and pressure flow
- condition of the internal components
- flue and combustion releases
- safety devices
- water and gas pipework
- electrical connections
- seals – to ensure that they are intact.
If any issues with the boiler are found we will discuss with you the remedial actions required and any materials that may be required.
Only a heating engineer that is Gas Safe Registered can work on gas boilers and that includes installing, servicing and repairing them.
Before allowing a heating engineer to work on your boiler you should always check that they are registered. See below for more about how you can do this.
Getting your boiler serviced ahead of the winter is an ideal time as it gets it ready for all the hard work it’s going to do keeping your home warm through the cold winter months. But don’t worry if you forget to get it done in the summer, you can have it serviced anytime.
Sometimes having your boiler serviced will help solve issues you are having, particularly if it has been a while since the last service. This is because over time, harmful debris can build up in the system and by having it cleaned, the boiler can work properly again.
If the service cannot resolve the problems you are having then further diagnostics tests and investigation can be conducted to help determine the problem and what actions are needed to repair it.
We charge a set price of £62.50 for boiler services. However if your boiler requires any remedial works of materials, for instance a new seal, then this will be chargeable.
